For most restaurants, the phone is a primary channel for reservations. But how much do you really know about the calls coming in?
Are they converting into bookings? Are guests abandoning calls because they can’t find a table? Are you losing potential revenue from guests who would have dined with you if they had been offered a better option?
Without data, your phone lines are a black box—essential, yet impossible to optimize. Slang.ai’s new Reservation Insights dashboard changes that, giving operators real visibility into phone-driven bookings.
The Blind Spot in Reservations Your phone rings, a host picks up, and a reservation is made or not. And without call automation, missed calls usually mean missed revenue opportunities. That’s the extent of most restaurant operators' knowledge about their phone performance.
Without any other inputs or feedback, you don’t know how effectively your phone drives revenue. Specifically, how much revenue falls through the cracks. You’re missing critical insights like:
How many reservation calls lead to bookings? How often do guests abandon the process because of limited availability? Are diners being offered (and accepting) alternate times? This lack of visibility makes optimizing for revenue and a better guest experience impossible.
Reservation Insights: Data About Bookings by Phone Slang AI’s Reservation Insights, included in our dashboard, brings data into focus, tracking key reservation metrics so you can see exactly how your phone contributes to your bottom line. Known vs. Unknown Guests: Returning guests can be booked faster, improving efficiency. Most Popular Times: See when diners want to book vs. when you have availability.Declined Options & No Availability: Identify where potential guests are slipping away. These insights allow you to make strategic adjustments and capture more revenue by adjusting your reservation workflows and processes. Here are just a few ways you can put this data to good use:
If guests frequently request unavailable times, you can tweak table allocations. Cross-sell tracking ensures that no potential revenue is left behind. If a guest can’t book their first-choice location, Reservation Insights shows whether they were offered (and accepted) an alternative at another restaurant in your group. Tracking large-party inquiries helps you adjust policies to maximize high-value bookings. Empower Your Team with Data, Not Guesswork Your staff and leadership can now make informed decisions based on actual reservation patterns. Instead of reacting to anecdotal experiences, you’ll have the numbers to guide strategy.
