Meet Superhost: The AI Host for Restaurants | Slang

Every great restaurant has that host.

They remember your name. They know where you like to sit. They can tell when you’re frustrated, answer the question you actually meant to ask, and make the whole interaction feel easy.

Today, we’re bringing that level of hospitality to every call with the new Slang AI Superhost.

Built specifically for full-service restaurants, Superhost is the next evolution of Slang AI: more natural, more intelligent, and more capable of delivering the kind of personalized hospitality guests expect from the best restaurants.
‍

Why Now?

Restaurants are being asked to deliver exceptional hospitality under increasingly difficult conditions.

Teams are stretched. Margins are tight. Guests expect immediate answers, whether they’re calling during the dinner rush or after everyone has gone home.

And expectations for AI have changed, too.

Guests don’t want to fight their way through a rigid phone tree or repeat themselves to a bot. They expect technology to understand what they’re asking, keep up when the conversation changes, and get things right the first time.

That’s what we built Superhost to do.
‍

Meet Superhost

Slang AI’s Superhost is designed to have the kind of fluid, nuanced conversations guests are used to having with a great restaurant host.

Guests can interrupt it. Change their minds halfway through a sentence. Ask follow-up questions. Switch topics. Superhost keeps up.

It can even understand emotional cues in a guest’s voice, distinguishing between an exasperated “ok” and a delighted one and responding appropriately.

And it can do all of this in 97 languages.
‍

Built for How Restaurants Actually Operate

Restaurant hospitality isn’t one-size-fits-all.

A neighborhood trattoria shouldn’t sound like a fine-dining restaurant. A restaurant’s Valentine’s Day reservations might work completely differently from a normal Friday night. A guest asking about a private event needs a different experience from someone asking whether the pasta contains dairy.

Superhost gives operators more control over how AI represents their restaurant.

Here is what Superhost has enabled for rollout starting today and over the coming months:

Bespoke personalities
Tune accent, tone, personality, and greetings so Superhost sounds like your restaurant. Operators can even specify language they want it to use or avoid.

Unique reservation handling
Build around the reservation cases that are unique to your restaurant, from Valentine’s Day to large parties and other special booking flows..

Custom topics
Teach Superhost about the things specific to your restaurant, including recurring events, promotions, and other information guests may ask about.

Enhanced menu intelligence
Upload your menu so Superhost can answer detailed questions about dishes and ingredients.

Enhanced OpenTable Experiences
Give guests detailed answers about your OpenTable Experiences and help them book directly through the conversation.
‍

Hospitality That Remembers

Great hospitality gets better when you know the guest.

Superhost is being built to remember prior conversations, preferences, visit history, upcoming reservations, allergies, birthdays, and the details that make someone feel recognized when they come back.

That means the guest relationship doesn’t have to start over every time the phone rings.

It’s a major part of where we believe restaurant AI is going: technology that understands the individual guest and helps restaurants deliver more personalized hospitality at scale.

“Restaurants don't need another voice bot. They need a teammate. Operators are being asked to deliver world-class hospitality with thinner teams, more channels, and rising guest expectations. The Superhost is the first AI that actually shows up the way a great host does: remembering guests, anticipating needs, and following up afterward. It's not a tool. It's a member of the team.”

Alex Sambvani
CEO, Slang AI

Built for Restaurant Teams, Too

Superhost isn’t only designed around the guest experience. It’s built to make life easier for the people running restaurants.

Sophisticated quality assurance continuously monitors and reviews calls, giving operators visibility into the experience without requiring teams to listen to every interaction themselves.

Restaurant-built guardrails help Superhost stay on policy while answering guest questions, and SOC 2 Type II attestation supports the security and reliability requirements of enterprise restaurant groups.

The goal is simple: give restaurant teams an AI teammate they can trust to represent their brand when they can’t pick up the phone themselves.

What Restaurant Leaders Are Saying

“Having worked in almost every facet of the hospitality business, I know just how important the guest experience is. It’s everything. Superhost helps us scale exceptional service across locations by truly hearing and answering guests, which enables front-of-house staff to up the ante on their service.”

Janet Zuccarini
Founder & CEO, Gusto54 Restaurant Group

“I sit at the intersection of people and operations. The real challenge is scaling great hospitality, and that starts with giving your people the right tools. Slang does that for us. Superhost can answer questions, book reservations, and deliver the same panache as our best host.”

Jason Berry
Co-founder, KNEAD Hospitality + Design

“Our entire mission is built around community, and that extends to our hospitality ethos. People are everything to us, and every touchpoint matters, not just on the floor, but on the phone, too. Superhost helps us deliver that same level of hospitality across every interaction.”

Dan Simons
Co-Founder, Founding Farmers

This Is Just the Beginning

Earlier this year, we raised our $36M Series B around a simple vision: build the AI Superhost for hospitality.

Today, that vision takes a major step forward.

Superhost is rolling out to full-service restaurant partners now, with additional capabilities coming over the months ahead.

We believe the future of restaurant AI should feel less like interacting with software and more like being welcomed by someone who knows the restaurant, knows you, and knows how to help.

That’s the Superhost.
